Superyacht Prices

How much does a Superyacht cost?

Nowadays there are many international shipyards offering superyachts for sale in production, semi-custom, and custom ranges. This notably includes shipyards in Turkey, Italy and the Netherlands.

Key factors effecting superyacht prices include construction material (generally "noble" materials such as steel or aluminium will be of higher initial and resale value than GRP), the reputation of the shipyard, the reputation of the designers and naval architects and the country of origin.

In general the Northern European Shipyards are traditionally the most expensive, with a correspondingly excellent reputation for high quality.

Substantially lower prices per Gross Ton may be available in Turkey, with Italy somewhere in between the two, with a reputation for sumptious interiors and elegant style.

There are substantial differences in superyacht pricing (and quality ) between them, and it is worth taking professional advice from experienced yacht brokers.  One will see a substantial difference in construction quality between a construction project that is well planned and designed at the beginning and that is monitored extensively throughout the entire process from conception to delivery and after.

There is a highly developed brokerage market in used superyachts for sale, with vessels with the best “pedigree" holding their value extremely well.

Age and condition are also of crucial importance : a well-maintained older vessel from a pedigree builder will command a higher yacht price than a modern vessel in poor condition and with incomplete maintenance works.
